a. What is the key area that teachers need to continuously develop?

b. How do you think teachers can be developed in this area optimally?

a) 1 - Pedagogy, 2 - IT practices.

b) Attending courses/workshops/sharing sessions is one of the many ways.

However, it takes effort on the part of the teachers to practise what they have preached or learnt.

If the key word here is "optimally", there should not be a quota or number of hours that a teacher must achieved for training.

Different indiviudals have different needs.
Development should be catered to individuals.

b)To attend workshops, sharings and courses. And most important of all, teachers must have the space and time to put what they have learnt into practice.

A teacher's core business is teaching and ensuring that learning takes place with dynamic pupils, competing to get their limited attention in a very fast-paced dynamic world. At the same time there are pupils who are so left behind ,who needs our attention as well. So.... pedagogy and class management are key.

Sharing with teachers who face the same problems and preferably have tried methods that worked.

Through attending courses and self-initiated descovery learning.

Listen to sharing by other teachers.

Review current teaching methods to check feasibility on next batch of students. If student's profile is different, modify teaching method accordingly.
