A mathematics lesson for Sec 214 was shared by Mr Lee Lye Peng. The lesson aimed to teach students the concepts of total exterior angles of polygons. Mr Lee used GSP4 software to help students explore about this concept. This lesson will be conducted in thecomputer lab.
Please provide your feedback and learning points from the tuning protocol that was conducted for this lesson.

One key learning point that I have learnt during the protocol session was understanding in depth the concept of total exterior angles of polygons. As educators, we tend to be too comfortable with the key mathematical concepts or formulae that we often use in our teaching without realizing that some of the formulae cannot exist for some extended cases. FOr example, formula for total exterior angles of polygons cannot be use for concave shaped polygons. We have to continously share and bounce ideas with our fellow educators in and also outside school especially with those in the same field. Through such interactions, we can prevent ourselves from being trapped in a cocoon of "my own teaching world".
I would strongly urged all fellow educators to reflect and move out of your cocoon and see what the world has to offer.

I have observed the lesson that Lye Peng shared during the protocol.
I am very surprised that students in 214 were really engaged in what they are doing. They are also very IT savvy.
Learning point: IT lessons worked for our challenging class.....they were engaged.
