We have almost come to the end of Term 2 and the holidays is just around the corner. It is always a good practice to conduct a mid year review on all the things that we have done for the first semester so that we can enhance our strength and work on the AFIs. So let us take a while to think and reflect on these questions.
a. List 3 things that I have done well as a teacher.
b. List 2 things that we have done well as a department.
c. List 1 most important thing that we need to improve on as a department.

(i)I have given a lot of remedials to the weaker students.
(ii)According to a few students, I managed to get them to like and study math.
(iii)I made a class of students buy their math textbooks. Does that count??
b(i)The dept has a very good support network for the new teacheres.
(ii)The blog reflections on PD are a good idea.
c. Put more of the worksheets we created into the sharing folder?? Actually, I don't really have an idea over here.

- Administrative works
- Adhering to deadline
b. List 2 things that we have done well as a department.
- Instructional programmes; interesting and varied programmes offered.
- Teamwork and cooperation; teachers are able to cover for one another as & when it is required. The teachers can rise to the occassion when called for.
c. List 1 most important thing that we need to improve on as a department.
- Communication / Management of resources; Despite having in place our staff noticeboard and the CMs at each level, "certain information can still be lost along the way". For e.g. the setters' list.

3 things:
1) I can have better classroom management and catered to the different learnig needs of my students.
2) I'm more proficient in ICT, example using of Asknlearn platform and promote independent learning.
3) My 103 did relatively well this semester. ;p
2 things:
1) Able to incorporate ICT into students' independent learning.
2) More IT savy.
1 thing:
More sharing of resources in the DRS. Like worksheets, revision papers, ppt on lesson etc.

a2. Collaborating with the level Maths teachers, thus optimising manpower.

a)
1) I had prepared worksheets similar to their homework, so pupils were better able to do their homework.
2) I have managed to keep pace with the syllabus. So it was less stressful this term.
3) Monitoring of the pupils work was done better this term.
c) I need to improve on my filing of documents
b) The department has done well in the following two areas:
i) Greater participation in the
blog reflections.
ii) Co-operation and Teamwork

Pearl :)
(a)(1) provided sufficient progressive tests for my sec 3 class for them to keep track of their learning output.
(2) reviewed and improved math notes for some topics for more effective teaching & learning.
(3) managed to counsel one of my "problem" students and finally able to see some positive outcome in his behaviour & attitude.
(b) (1) making use of blogs for reflection is a good move.
(2) quality time is spent during PD sessions.
